The Samarkand Collection is part of a series Ayshe has designed to celebrate the arrival of the Olympics in London next year. Inspired by the patterns found on street furniture in London, the collections celebrate London at its best - a melting pot of diverse cultures from the far corners of the earth, creating a palimpsest of beauty over the centuries. The first collection to be released, Samarkand draws inspiration from the beautiful geometric patterns created in the Islamic tradition of art based on mathematics and philosophy.
